The age of AI requires new technology and algorithms for data and knowledge infrastructure. Knowledge graphs and vector databases that provide low latency performance while scaling to many, many trillions of triples and vectors are needed. Instead of taking hours to load and train these data stores so they can be queried in a reasonable timeframe, triples and vectors need to be indexed at line speed, as they arrive and be immediately available for fast query.
The cloud providers and enterprise software companies that are pushing AI so hard don't have the scalable and cost efficient data technology to power it. Neither the 70s era algorithms for organizing data, nor more recent columnar approaches, nor the brute-force approaches can deliver what enterprises need to support AI or advanced analytics. The amount and complexity of data is simply overwhelming the legacy technology. No organization should accept the brute force cost that the legacy providers are demanding they pay - simply because their market position and massive sales and marketing expenditures allow them to continue to sell and repackage old, obsolete data technology.
To be fair, they don't know and most customers don't know they are obsolete. Craxel's breakthrough, patented O(1) technology for multidimensional indexing has made it so. Spend an hour getting a briefing from Craxel and you'll know its true. "This is like magic" is one of the most common reactions.
We have built an entirely new data engine from scratch called Black Forest to house our breakthrough computer science - because the algorithms simply don't fit the way legacy data engines work. Black Forest is purely software. No specialized hardware. Runs anywhere. Memory safe language. Zero trust security built into the engine itself. Pervasive compartmentalization based on strong cryptography using patented high performance searchable encryption. SQL, Sparql, and Native APIs. ACID transactions. Scalable data ingest framework. Codeless tools for knowledge extraction from data sources. Petabytes of data stored "hot" in inexpensive hyperscale storage instead of expensive running servers. Transformational cost, performance, and security.
We believe every scalable, cost-efficient, and performant enterprise AI journey begins with Black Forest. If you know what we know about the "math", we think you'd agree.
